At Sebago’s Crooked River Campground, we encourage you to journey on an adventure to Sebago Lake or any of the many other amazing bodies of water in the area with our Kayaks via Crooked River. Leisurely paddle your way south through streams, brooks, and rivers.

Discover Sebago Lake, which is the deepest and second largest lake (after Moosehead Lake) in Maine. The lake is 12 miles long and its shoreline stretches 105 miles and is an excellent choice for fresh water fishing. It is surrounded by the towns of Casco, Naples, Raymond, Sebago, Standish and Windham.

Long Lake is the second largest water body in southern Maine and is known for it’s loon population with many coves and shores to explore.

These bodies of water offer great kayaking along with a host of attractions, natural habitats, and abundant wildlife to discover. Let Sebago’s Crooked River Campground offer you a way to create and share fun memories with friends and family as you paddle to new locations.

We feature Old Town Kayaks, canoes, and stand up boards. Crooked River kayaking is in the heart of a 35 mile stretch of lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. Exploring the quiet shores and habitat of a lake or river to going down the class II or III water on the Crooked River truly offers something for everybody. Rent any of these boats at our location and launch right here from our sandy beach on the Crooked River, or have us deliver them to one of 13 locations.

Open to the public, a $5.00 launching fee of your own Kayak/Canoe provides you with free parking, bathhouse accommodations, and an easy launch from a sandy beach area onto the Crooked River. Journey south 2.4 miles to the Songo Locks and Sebago Lake, or north to Edes Falls and Scribner’s Mills. While Crooked River has some class II and III water, as defined by www.riverfacts.com. The majority of the waterfront is a leisurely paddle with lots of wild life, scenic views and sand bars to explore.

Easy paddling!
Rivers and Lakes.
Includes rental, Paddle, and PFD. A signed waiver is required for each person in your rental party. Enjoy the 35 miles of boating from south Sebago to the north end of Long Lake.


Naples Causeway is a scenic setting full of attractions. Pubs, dairy bars, marinas, inns, float plane rides, and jet ski rentals can be found as well as rides on the Songo River Queen. Launch at the town dock on to Long Lake with access to Brandy Pond. Parking is limited on weekends.

Crooked River Rte. 302
The old Rte. 302 bridge launch is steep, but comes highly recommended. Using this launch you can take Crooked River downstream to any of several points:
Sebago’s Crooked River Campground: 2.25 miles.
Lake Sebago sand bar: 6.8 miles.

Trickey Pond Boat Launch is a state launch with free parking off of Route 114. Enjoy small pond kayaking and great fishing.

Kettle Cove off of Route 302 is a great place to launch into Sebago Lake. It features a private launch with limited parking off of Point Sebago Road.

Veterans Memorial at Panther Run is a small memorial park with picnic areas and free parking. Carry a short distance launch at panther’s run in Sebago’s Jordan Bay area.

Crescent Lake is roughly 3 miles long. It has a public hard launch with limited parking. The public beach offers swimming and picnic areas for your convenience.
