Campground Rules

Sebago’s Crooked River Campground is a family campground and, as such, we strive to provide and maintain a campground where you and your family can relax, enjoy your time together and make memories that will last a lifetime. In order for everyone to have a great camping experience here, we ask your cooperation with the following:

Check-In Time is 1:00 PM - All campers and their guests must be registered at check-in and the appropriate fees paid. Check-out time is 11:00 AM. As a courtesy to arriving families, we ask that you be mindful of this and leave your campsite on time and in clean condition.

Refunds - Sorry, but there are no refunds for late arrivals, early departures, or when cancelled less than 45 days prior. Cancellation must be received at least 45 days prior to the date of arrival in order to receive a refund, less a $15.00 service charge and any non-refundable deposit. All reservtions booked one year in advance are subject to a $25.00 non-refundable booking fee which is applied to the deposit. Rates are subject to change.

Quiet Time - Reasonable quiet is expected from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. This means no loud conversations, large groups, music, TV’s, etc. Children under age 15 must be on their own site by 10:00 PM, teenagers under 18 must be on site by 11:00 PM. Please be courteous to your neighbors. No loitering in common areas is allowed, including the beach area, the pavilion, and the restrooms.

Speed Limit - The speed limit within the campground is 5 MPH. Please drive slowly when entering and through the campground. There are a lot of children around.

Swimming - There are no NO LIFEGUARDS on duty at the beach or pool. Swimming is at your own risk. Small children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at the beach, and anyone under age 16 must have adult supervision at the pool facility. We require swim diapers and/or waterproof pants for infants and toddlers who are not potty trained. Absolutely no diving is allowed at either location.

Children - Parents are responsible for the behavior and welfare of their children. Small children must be accompanied by an adult when using any campground facilities.

Playground - The playground is open from 8:00 AM to dark. For safety reasons, children are not allowed in the playground after dark. We ask that parents ensure that children play in a safe manner while at the playground. The playground equipment is for small children, please.

Pet Policy - Your well-behaved pets are welcome and must be kept on a physical leash at all times. Voice command and electronic collars are not acceptable means of constraint. Aggressive and noisy pets should be left at home. Dogs should not be unattended at your site; a lonely pet is a noisy pet. Dogs that become a problem to their neighbors will be asked to leave the campground. A list of kennels is available at the office. Dogs are not allowed at the swimming beach, but may swim at the boat ramp. You must pick up after your pets and dispose of waste in the dumpster. Children may only walk pets they are capable of restraining and picking up after. Guests may not bring pets. Breed restriction: We no longer accept Pit Bulls and Rottweilers in the park.

Campfires - All of our fireplaces have been carefully located for safety and may not be moved. Campfires must be confied to the fireplace and should be kept small. Fires must be completely out when leaving the campsite or retiring for the evening. Please do not burn garbage.

Firewood - Firewood is available for sale at the camp store. DO NOT cut, trim or in any way damage trees or brush. Please purchase firewood locally, and do NOT carry firewood over state lines. There have been recent concerns regarding non-native insects being introduced into Maine forests.

Bike Riding - Bike riding within the campground is a privilege that can be revoked. Bike riding must be done in a safe manner, and children under age 16 should have safety helmets (state law). No bike riding allowed on the beach, on the pavilion, or after dark in the campground. Please use bike racks at the recreation hall and beach area.

Prohibited - The following equipment is not allowed in our campground: Mini-bikes, mopeds, all terrain vehicles, drones, noisy equipment, skateboards, rollerblades, and children’s motorized vehicles. The campground management reserves the right to deny use of any vehicle it deems to be unsafe, excessively noisy, or bothersome to other campers. No generator use allowed.

Fireworks and Firearms - Firearms are prohibited in the campground. Although now legal in the State of Maine, all fireworks (with the exception of sparklers, carefully supervised) are PROHIBITED in the campground. Absolutely no firearms allowed on the property.

Smoking - For the comfort of all our customers, NO SMOKING, including e-cigarettes, on the swimming beach or in any of our buildings. We ask that you be courteous of others when smoking elsewhere on our grounds, and PLEASE do not discard cigarette butts on the ground. Marijuana use is prohibited in the campground. Although now legal in Maine, in the interests of maintaining a family atmosphere, marijuana use is not allowed.

Trash Disposal - Dumpsters are located in the pool parking lot and are intended for the disposal of household trash only. No large items will be accepted. Do not leave garbage on your campsite as it will attract animals.
